About Me
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with children, adolescents, and women as they navigate anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, ADHD, relationship concerns, and other challenges that can make life feel overwhelming.
What I enjoy most about being a counselor is getting to know the person behind what brought them to therapy. Whether I’m working with a child learning to understand big emotions, a teenager trying to find their footing, or a woman working through a difficult season of life, I want therapy to be a place where you feel comfortable being yourself and talking honestly about what’s going on.
Over the years, I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to work with adults as well as children and adolescents. With women, I enjoy helping clients work through anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, past experiences, and the stress that can come with different seasons of life. Sometimes that means learning practical ways to cope with what is happening right now, and other times it means slowing down and looking more closely at patterns or experiences that may be affecting you.
My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I take time to understand each client and what they need from therapy rather than assuming the same approach will work for everyone. With younger clients, I may incorporate play, creative activities, and other age-appropriate techniques. With adolescents and adults, sessions are often more conversational while still focused on developing insight, practical skills, and meaningful change.
I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Montevallo in 2021 and am a National Certified Counselor. My professional experience includes providing grief counseling through the Amelia Center at Children’s Hospital, as well as partnering with local schools to provide counseling services to students during the school day. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work with people at different ages and stages of life and have shaped the counselor I am today.
Outside of the counseling office, I’m a wife, mom, and active member of my church community. These are important parts of who I am and have shaped the way I value relationships, connection, and meeting people with compassion.
